Special Education Blog ♥

There is nothing that makes my day like finding a fellow special education teacher (or intervention teacher, Title 1 teacher, any type of 'special' teacher really)!  Blogging and Pinterest have been an incredible resource to help me find colleagues across the nation.  I thought I would share with you all the great special educations blogs that I have found.  I have a Pinterest board dedicated to Special Ed. blogs and this handy post here will show you some of my favorites.  If you have a special education teacher blog (and you are not included in this list) please leave me a comment.  I will add you to my Pinterest board and this blog post!  Let's build a community!! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. To answer your question...Our whole school is mild-moderate special ed (k-12) with about 100 students. We have super small classes (6 for my little guys, 8 kids for the older grades. This lets us get to know the kids really well and it's like a little family. We are for the kids who don't quite fit in a regular school, but don't belong in a severe room/school either. We get a lot of kids with autism and Asperger's, along with rare disorders like seizures and brain tumor survivors. All of our students are high functioning, but often have sensory needs like having a quieter classroom. Plus we do a TON of social skills instruction.

    1. You're welcome!!

Your school sounds so interesting! What state are you located in? I think that sounds like a great setting to teach in. I am sure it has its pros and cons, but I can only imagine the quality time and on-point instruction you get to give to your students! Awesome! I can't wait to read more about your school and keep up with your blog!!

  14. My son has autism and has been improving drastically since he started taking classes specifically for special needs children. I am so grateful their are still educators who devote their lives to teaching special needs kids. Even the resources for parents of children with special needs are really helpful. I hope that it stays this way for many years to come!
