Make It Monday (The Beginning of our Summer Plans)

http://www.remarkablehome.net/2012/06/super-summer-schedule-free-printable.html

At the link above you can find a neat summer plan printable. It goes something like this:

Monday-Make Something Monday
Tuesday-Take a Trip Tuesday
Wednesday-Wet & Wild Wednesday
Thursday-Thinking Thursday (visit a library, museum, website, anywhere that you will learn something)
Friday-Fresh and Fun Friday ( do a new craft or activity that you have found on Pinterest)

Today we kicked summer off right by making some yummy Memorial Day themed cookies (without arguing I might add).

Chloe did the icing and Barrett did the sprinkling.

And the finished project:

They were as equally yummy as they are adorable!

Want to make these too?
Well, it is so simple. We will call it semi-homemade!

You will need:
Soft baked cookies (we used Kroger deli chocolate chip)
One tub of icing (our fave is Pilsbury Cream Cheese icing)
Red, white, and blue sprinkles

Directions:
Lay out bottom part for sandwich cookie
Pipe icing in a circle in the center of cookie rotating outward to the edges.
Top with second cookie and press until the icing starts to squish out the sides.
Roll the cookies in the sprinkles like a wheel
Stack
Eat

Great American Cookie?

One of my favorite holidays is Halloween. I love fall, decorating with fall colors and leaves, pumpkins, scary stories, fire pits and s'mores, and dressing up for the holiday. In spirit of Halloween, my kids and I made our own cookie cake, ala, GAC!

Want to make your own cookie cake?  Here's what you need:

2 packages/rolls of Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough
1/4 cup Karo light corn syrup (for every package of cookie dough)
1 container of chocolate icing
1 container of white icing (I made the orange icing using white icing and orange icing dye)

**My favorite icing is Betty Crocker rich and creamy...but you use what you like**

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Combine cookie dough with Karo syrup and mix until smooth.  Pat out cookie dough onto 11x17 greased cookie sheet.
Bake in oven 25-30 minutes.  Keep an eye on your cookie (you want it to be golden brown and a little doughy.  It will set up some after it comes out of the oven.  Mine is a little more "done" than I prefer).
Let cookie cool and decorate as desired!!!

So yummy!!
